DELIVERY & RECYCLING

We’ll deliver your product at a time to suit you on behalf of Currys and PC World. The key to our delivery service is flexibility; you can choose your delivery in the morning or the evening and even over the weekend – just select an option to suit you. Our first delivery is made at 7am with our last one at 7pm, and we’ll always phone you 30 minutes before we’re due to arrive.


DELIVERY

Delivery of large items
large kitchen appliances and TV’s over 39”

Store purchases and products delivered directly by the manufacturer are subject to different delivery options and charges. Please ask in store for details or see the product page for manufacturer deliveries.

Large products such as washing machines, cookers, fridge freezers and large screen TVs are generally delivered by our Knowhow team. Here’s what you need to know:

Delivery is free if you’re happy to wait. Alternatively, you can select next day delivery and you can also book a 4 hour time slot.1 Choose your preferred delivery option when you order online or ask in store for more details.

When we deliver we can take away the packaging. If you would like us to, we can also remove and recycle your old product, for a small fee. If you purchase installation when you order, we’ll disconnect your old appliance for you. See our Recycling tab for more information.

We deliver to all mainland UK addresses (including Northern Ireland) and the following islands: Isle of Skye, Isle of Sheppey, Anglesey, Isle of Wight and Isle of Man.2 This excludes the Channel Islands and BFPO (British Forces Post Office addresses).

Deliveries by our Knowhow team are 7 days a week in most areas (subject to availability), usually from 7am to 7pm.

TRACK YOUR ORDER

You can always keep up-to-date with the delivery of your new product with our online Track It service. All you need is your postcode, telephone number and reference number (starts with ‘74’ and found in your confirmation email or your till receipt).

If you’ve chosen standard delivery, you can find out the expected time of delivery by going onto Track It after 9pm the night before. In some instances, this information may not become available until after 10pm.

If you've provided us with a mobile number, we’ll send you a text reminder the evening before.

Delivery of SMALL items
TVs under 39", computers, cameras etc.

Store purchases and products delivered directly by the manufacturer are subject to different delivery options and charges. Please ask in store for details or see the product page for manufacturer deliveries.

Small products include items such as laptops and cameras to sat navs and software. These items are generally delivered by post or by courier (DPD or Royal Mail). Here’s some information:

  • It's free if you select standard delivery. Standard delivery is Monday to Friday (excluding bank holidays), generally from 8am to 5pm, and we aim to get your purchase to you within 3-5 working days. Please allow 4-7 working for extended bank holiday periods such as Christmas and Easter
  • When possible you can choose to have your small box item delivered the next day and you can also book a 4 hour time slot3
  • We deliver to all UK addresses (including Northern Ireland) and all UK islands with the exception of the Channel Islands and BFPO (British Forces Post Office addresses)

TRACK YOUR ORDER

Your small boxed item will be delivered by courier and can be tracked at any time by clicking on the link in the confirmation email that was sent to you. This link will take you to the courier’s website.

If you've provided us with a mobile number and have selected flexible delivery, the courier will text you on the day of delivery with your one hour time slot.

SOME IMPORTANT NOTES

Product availability

On some products, we offer the option to order an item in advance if it’s not in stock at the time, but we know that more stock is on its way and we’ll let you know the date we expect delivery to be available on the site. If you purchase two or more products at a time, they may have different availabilities and methods of delivery, in which case you may receive your items individually as soon as they become available.

Products delivered directly by the manufacturer

Products delivered directly by the manufacturer are subject to their own terms and conditions and delivery options / times may vary. On purchase you’ll be asked to select a preferred delivery day or the manufacturer will contact you to arrange a delivery date.

Delays

We do everything we can to ensure our delivery times are met but sometimes delays do occur during peak ordering periods or with deliveries to the Scottish Islands. We’ll let you know if we become aware of any unexpected delays.

VAT

Please be aware that we cannot offer VAT refunds to overseas customers ordering goods to be delivered to a UK address.

RECYCLING

When you purchase a large appliance or TV from Currys or PC World our Knowhow team will deliver it to your home and take away the packaging. If you want us to, we can also take away and recycle your old appliance for a small fee.

Alternatively, you can bring your old product into any Currys or PC World store and we’ll recycle it free of charge.

LARGE APPLIANCES AND TVS OVER 39" DELIVERED BY KNOWHOW

If you’re having your new product delivered, we just ask that you make sure your old appliance has been safely disconnected and that it’s in a fit state to be taken away before we arrive. If you’ve purchased a Knowhow installation service, we’ll disconnect your old product for you.

Built-in / integrated appliances should be disconnected and completely removed from their housing and refrigeration appliances should be fully defrosted and free of water. Please note; gas and dual fuel cookers should be disconnected by Gas Safe Register approved engineers.

We certainly don’t want to damage your property during collection, so in some circumstances we are not able to disconnect old products. Below are some examples of why we wouldn’t be able to disconnect:

  • Your old appliance is hard wired into a fused spur
  • Your old appliance has tap connections that have seized up
  • Your old appliance cannot be moved

ALL OTHER PRODUCTS

Before bringing your unwanted electrical products into store for recycling, please make sure the product is in a presentable condition (i.e. refrigeration products fully defrosted). If your product (PC, laptop, mobile phone, tablet etc...) has any personal data stored on it, please ensure that the data has been deleted prior to us receiving it. Alternatively, this can be done with our Data Wipe service for computers.

MORE ABOUT OUR RECYCLING SERVICE

Since July 2007 the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Regulations have applied. The regulations were introduced to reduce the amount of untreated waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) going to landfill and to ensure that equipment collected separately is dealt with properly.

All new electrical and electronic equipment we sell at Currys and PC World stores can be recycled. You can tell because our products include a ‘crossed out wheeled bin symbol’ like this:

Even if your old product doesn’t have the ‘crossed out wheeled bin’ symbol, the good news is we’ll gladly accept and recycle your old electrical and electronic equipment to the best of our ability.

THE BENEFITS OF RECYCLING

Recycling unwanted electrical products is better for the environment. Lead and other toxins contained in electrical goods can cause soil and water contamination. This can have a very harmful effect on the natural habitat, wildlife and also human health. When situated near populated areas these toxins can cause problems to communities as their water and soil is polluted.

Many of the electrical items that we throw away can be repaired or recycled. Recycling items helps save natural resources and also reduces the environmental and health risks associated with sending waste electrical goods to landfill.

A BIT ABOUT BATTERIES

Knowhow is a trading name of DSG Retail Limited, which is responsible for the collection, treatment and recycling of waste batteries. You’ll find recycling bins for batteries in all Currys and PC World stores, so that anyone and everyone can deposit their used portable batteries. Batteries we accept:

  • AA or AAA batteries
  • Batteries used in mobile phones or laptops
  • Batteries fixed to the motherboard of a personal computer or laptop
  • Batteries found in wristwatches

Sorry, we don’t accept:

  • Industrial batteries
  • Automotive batteries

INSTALLATION

Installing large appliances can be a little daunting, especially when they require plumbing or gas connections. Knowhow has a team of fully trained electric and Gas Safe registered installers around the UK, ready and waiting to help you.

Knowhow installation services are available when you buy a large appliance from Currys, PC World or another retailer. Here's what you get:

  • Full installation of new appliances, either when we deliver or on a selected date you choose
  • Qualified, experienced installation team (including Gas Safe registered engineers)
  • Available 7 days a week at a day to suit you in most areas of the UK

Our installation teams cover most of the UK and will install your new appliance on the day we deliver. You can sit back and relax knowing that we’ll take care of everything.

Please note: we currently can’t install integrated (built-in) appliances in Northern Ireland.

Getting ready for your installation:

There are a few things you need to do before the Knowhow team arrive to install your appliance:

  • Make sure our team can safely access your property and there are no obstructions
  • Please be at home at the time we’ve arranged to arrive; we need a resident over the age of 18 to be able to complete a delivery or installation
  • If you’ve purchased a gas cooker, please ensure you have a gas supply close to the site where you would like your cooker installed
